I am a fellow griever. I have witnessed several family deaths. The most difficult for me have been the death of my mom in March of 2021 and then my mother in law in Febuary of 2023. Lessons learned from these experiences have propelled me into supporting other grievers in their journey. The greatest lessons I have learned revolve around self-care, authenticity, vulnerability, community and GRACE.
My mom loved to garden. Since her death I have spent much time in her old garden beds, revitalizing them, learning, creating, planting, fertilizing and watering. I find joy there. I also find lots of work, pulling those pesky weeks, making mistakes and feeling the effects of the uncontrollable weather., Gardening requires work, resilience, care and grace. The garden is where I feel my mom’s presence still with me and where I find reconnection with God. There are many metaphors of gardening and grief that I found powerful. My Mom was also named GG. Hence the name GG’s Garden was created, giving a nod to her presence, to grief and grace.
I am a registered nurse with nearly 40 years’ experience in cancer and hospice care. Witnessing grief, supporting others in their experiences has become my heart’s passion. I am certified in Advanced Illness Coordinated Care, Motivational Interviewing and a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler, (world known grief expert). I am also a wife, mom, grandma and friend.

Rhonda came into our lives during one of the hardest seasons. I know In my heart that God knew we needed her. We were scared, hurting and overwhelmed with everything that cancer brings with it. My mom would always say, “let me call Rhonda” We knew we could depend on her knowledge, experience and encouragement- then and now. She was light for my mom, for me and for our family.
Rhonda has been a friend of mine for nearly 30 years. During those years she has always been a nurse. And I noticed right away, as we began to get to know each other, she didn’t choose nursing as a career - nursing chose her because of her authentic nature which is to find solutions and help!
Now, all these years later, when the world needs it most, Rhonda has taken her unique nursing experience, education, skills and natural talent to step into the nurse coaching role. As a nurse coach, she will help you navigate the oftentimes unchartered territory dealing with uncertainty, confusion or fear. Rhonda has a unique way of finding a place of calm and clarity.
Rhonda is positive, encouraging, insightful, intuitive, kind and smart; she brings those traits with her for every client/patient that she meets. She has a way of breaking complex medical information down into bite size pieces allowing individuals and families to manage easier.
I’ve never known anyone that can get to the heart of the matter so quickly; by helping people see situations through a more positive and realistic lens she helps empower them for the expected and unexpected.
Rhonda is present, genuine, authentic and brilliant! She can help bring calm to any storm you may be going through, sharing her wisdom and her deep conviction that all things are possible.
